Leading Physician and Healthcare Management Expert Joins CMS

One of the nation’s leading healthcare management experts – Jack Davidson, M.D. – has joined St.Louis-based Correctional Medical Services, Inc. (CMS) as the company’s Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Davidson comes to CMS after having served in a variety of capacities leading healthcare management teams. Most recently, he served as President of BJC Medical Group in St. Louis. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Medical Officer for ConnectCare in St. Louis and the Chief Medical Officer for Tenet HealthSystem’s St. Louis region.

In his role at CMS, Dr. Davidson:

• Leads a team of physicians who are effectively meeting the healthcare needs of 290,000 inmate patients in correctional facilities in 20 states, including 14 statewide prison systems
• Establishes and updates patient care initiatives designed to support the work of CMS nurses, physicians and other healthcare professionals
• Shares information about emerging healthcare issues with CMS physicians
• Works with CMS staff and state corrections agencies to achieve accreditation of healthcare programs at prison or jail facilities

Dr. Davidson is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a graduate of both Washington University School of Medicine and Harvard Business School.
