June 30, 2010

Campbell comes to Valitás and CMS after 12 years with WellPoint, including roles as Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning, Chief of Staff to the Chairman and CEO; and most recently serving as President of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri and Wisconsin.

“Stuart brings outstanding experience in healthcare management and leadership to our team,” said Richard H. Miles, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Valitás and CMS.

Campbell will succeed current CMS COO Vickie Bybee, who has been with the company for 24 years, leading CMS operations for the past four years. Bybee will step down as COO Sept. 1, but remain with the company full time in a senior advisory capacity. She is relocating to Arizona and intends to play a key role in a number of company initiatives in the Western United States.

“Vickie has been an incredible asset for our company, combining a deep understanding of patient care with management expertise,” said Miles. “We are grateful for her leadership and her willingness to aid in this important transition.”

In his new role, Campbell will oversee the operations of Valitás and CMS – which provides healthcare services to 290,000 inmate patients in correctional facilities in 20 states, including 14 statewide systems.

“I look forward to building on the great work that has already been accomplished at Valitás and CMS over the past 30 years,” said Campbell. “We have an outstanding team in place – constantly working to deliver quality services to patients and the corrections agencies we serve.”

Prior to joining Blue Cross Blue Shield, Campbell was with the accounting firm of Price Waterhouse, serving clients in the fields of healthcare, insurance and financial services. Campbell received his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and his Master’s of Business Administration from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis.
